According to the market research firm Counterpoint, the Tizen based Samsung Z1 Smartphone has become the top selling Smartphone in Bangladesh during Q1 2015, directly showing that Samsung can understand their target consumer and appeal to his / her needs, which seems to be a winning strategy that has been previously used in the India and Bangladesh. Symphony mobile still leads in overall market share at 37%, with Samsung squeezing in at second place with 7.2%.
Samsung has reportedly shipped over 500,000 units of the Z1 since launch, with 20,000 of those being from Bangladesh in the first week of launch in the country. Recently we have seen the Tizen store to be expanded to 182 countries world wide and we can see that the next country for it to launch in will be Sri Lanka.
