The Samsung Tizen smartwatches like the Galaxy Gear / Gear 2 and Gear S are fantastic devices that are running the best of Operating systems (am I biased? Lol), but the square form factor isn’t for everyone, we know that and it looks like Samsung does as well. The rumours are that Samsung are gearing up to release a round smartwatch codenamed Orbis to be launched at MWC 2015, but now we have a few more details.
The guys over at Sammobile say, according to their sources, that Orbis will now feature a rotating bezel ring on top and also a crown-shaped power button, possibly similar to what Apple has / will implement on the iWatch (?). Users will probably be able to assign global actions to the bezel, as well as developers integrating the functionality into their Tizen applications using the developers Software Development Kit (SDK).
The power button could be used to wake up the screen or initiate Samsung S-Voice or some other user selected functions. The price point is looking like it might be high for this high flying Smart watch so make sure you are sitting down when the pricing gets revealed.
Is this your sort of Smart watch? or what will make your knees wobble ???
