During IFA Berlin, Samsung had announced Gear Sport Smart watch, and the Company has just taken to YouTube to showcase some of its features. The smart watch is expected to be released before the holiday season.
In this 1 minute video, Samsung has mainly focused on its design and highlighted its day-to-day use in various sporting activities. Gear Sport, as the name suggests, has features specially designed for fitness and sport activities. Gear Sport is water resistant, which Samsung says is up to 50 meters. It comes with a built-in GPS to track your real time movement routes. The Gear Sport also has built-in software for tracking and keeping a record of your weight. The watch comes with a standalone music player, which means you don’t need your phone around to listen to the music. It doesn’t have much of a sporty look which might come good if you’re planning to wear it on various other occasions. And just to make things better, Gear Sport also functions as a normal Smart watch. It can receive notifications, and of course, you can directly reply to them as well.
Gear Sport comes with a circular display and a rotating bezel. It sports a 1.2 inch 360×360 super AMOLED screen having always on display feature. Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 protects this watch’s display. The watch is fuelled by 1.0 GHz dual-core processor. The Gear has a RAM of 768 MB and a native storage capacity of 4 GB. The Watch is powered by a 300 mAh battery and comes with Bluetooth 4.2 Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), GPS and NFC connectivities. The Gear has dimensions of 42.9 x 44.6 x 11.6 mm and weighs 50g without a strap. Samsung’s Gear Sport comes in two colours: Black and Blue.
