With security concerns on the rise, Companies are going beyond just password authentication as a security measure and already implementing biometric authentication such as fingerprint, facial recognition, voice recognition, etc. Samsung SDS Nexsign biometric authentication platform which is Samsung’s FIDO-certified biometric authentication software for enterprise has been using fingerprint, face and voice recognition for login authentication. Now, Samsung SDS is going a level further by partnering with BioCatch to integrate their behavioural biometrics service into Nexsign.
In an interview with ZDNet, Richard Lobovsky, vice president, Samsung SDS America was quoted saying-
“We are continuously looking at ways to enhance our platform with different modalities. We felt that behavioral biometrics could be a nice complement to our FIDO platform.”
Biocatch’s behavioural biometric solution has the capability to continuously monitor user activity after they login to notice any red flags by mapping behavioural patterns. This solution will monitor user interactions and validate them based on 500 different parameters to detect human imposters, malware and bots. This integration will be added to FIDO’s device and server-level protection so that when users login to a mobile application, it will require additional steps or biometric tests to authenticate the transaction.
Such levels of security measures are being taken by companies because the average fraudulent transaction is priced at around $130 for mobile and $115 tablets. In addition to that a majority of users tend to use the same login credentials for banking, social media, e-mails, etc so getting access to anyone could pose a potential threat to all the other accounts especially banking related ones.
