Samsung Releases Tizen Software Development Kit (SDK) for Wearables

Samsung today have announced that the Tizen Software Development Kit (SDK) for Wearables is now available to download at the Tizen Developer website. The Tizen Samsung Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo are seen are strategic gateways that will attract developers at large to populate a new Tizen Smartwatch ecosystem, but then also lead developers onto the Tizen “greater” ecosystem.
The Tizen SDK for Wearable is releasing as a 1.0.0b1 beta release with Ubuntu 32, Ubuntu 64, Windows 7 32Bit, Windows 7 64bit, Max OS X (Intel) and Mac OS X (Intel,CLI) versions available right now. They can be downloaded with either the install manager or as a single SDK binary. The SDK consists of a Wearable IDE, Emulator, tool-chain, sample applications, and relevant documentation.
The SDK is said to have launched with 100 unique partners onboard at launch providing end users with “enhanced wearable experiences for fitness, shopping, social media, music, news, and sleep management“.
