Samsung Pay has currently been deployed to most of Samsung’s target markets around the world. The company is now in the process of solidifying the service by partnering with more banks and merchants. In recent times we have reported a lot of such bank partnerships with Samsung in different countries. To keep its users active on Samsung Pay, apart from adding support to most banks, Samsung had also started a loyalty program called Samsung Rewards. With Samsung Rewards, users earn points on transactions made using Samsung Pay which can then be redeemed for special gifts.
Now Samsung is bringing the Samsung Rewards loyalty program to Spain. Like we mentioned earlier, this lets users pile up points for all their Samsung Pay Transaction and redeem those points on gifts. As an introductory reward, all transactions made before January 6th will reward users with double the points. The rewards are categorized as below-
- Bronze (1 to 10 transactions per month): 10 Samsung Rewards per transaction.
- Silver (11 to 20 transactions per month): 15 Samsung Rewards per transaction.
- Gold (from 21 to 50 transactions per month): 20 Samsung Rewards per transaction.
The categories are assessed on a monthly basis, if a user exceeds the transactions in their existing category, they get moved up to a new category at the end of the month.
The most recent Samsung Pay development in Spain dates back to July 2017 when Samsung partnered with Spain’s largest departmental store, El Corte Inglés to let customers add their store payment card into their Samsung Pay account and hence make contactless payments. This was a first of its kind as it was a private label card and not a bank issued one.
