South Korean electronics giant Samsung has introduced yet another innovative product, this time in the aspect of solid state drive. The Samsung Portable SSD T5 raises the bar for the performance of external memory devices with its industry-leading transfer speeds and encrypted data security as well as compact and durable design.
The new storage drive T5 is built with Samsung’s latest 64-layer V-NAND technology which delivers top-notch transfer speeds, coupled with encrypted data security in a compact and durable design. This setup will make it easier than ever for consumers to access their most valuable data anywhere and at any time.
The SSD T5 is capable of delivering stunning speeds of up to 540 MB/s which is up to 4.9 times faster than most external HDD products. Samsung is targeting content creators, business, and IT professionals as well as mainstream consumers and others who desire instant and easy access to data with the new T5. Another nice feature of the SSD T5 is its portability, with a size that is smaller than an average business card, is very light and can comfortably fit in the palm of your hand. It comes with a dimension of 74 x 57.3 x 10.5mm (3.0 x 2.3 x 0.4 inches) and is incredibly lightweight at a mere 51g. The T5 is encased in an aluminium casing which is available in two distinct metal finishes – Deep Black and Alluring Blue. The Deep Black is only available for the 1TB and 2TB models while the Alluring Blue is for the 250GB and 500GB models.
Samsung SSD T5 is solidly built without any part moving and has a shock-resistant internal frame which makes it immune from damaging when it is accidentally dropped from heights of up to 2 meters (6.6 feet). There is a software for the SSD for PCs and Macs which is based on the AES 256-bit hardware data encryption making it easy to configure security settings and receive the latest firmware and software updates. Also, a mobile app for Android smartphones and tablets is available offering even more convenience. In addition, it comes with a USB Type-C port but there are two connection cables – USB-C to C and USB-C to A – for enhanced compatibility across numerous devices.
The SSD T5 is available globally for purchase since August 15 and has a comes with a price which starts at $129.99 for the 250GB model. The T5 also comes with a three-year limited warranty
