Samsung Gear Sport’s Landing Page is now LIVE with additional Information

Simply put, Samsung Electronics is killing it right now in the wearable industry. After the Gear S3, Samsung unveiled two fitness oriented smartwatches, the Gear Fit2 Pro and Gear Sport. The Gear Sport is a fitness tracker and a smartwatch rolled into one. Now, the Gear Sport’s landing page is now live. Now that the Gear Sport is out you can get into that fitness regime.

Samsung says ‘Change the look of your Gear Sport with a wide range of different straps and watch faces, Whether it’s the sporty Hybrid Sport, the timeless Classic Leather, or the casual cool Premium Nato, there’s a style to go with your look.’

Track your Calories

The Gear Sport will also track the number of calories that are burnt throughout the day. The watch will have a pretty good idea about the user’s net calorie loss/gain. Thus it will encourage the users to meet their goals either by being more active or having lighter meals near the end of the day.

The Gear Sport comes with GPS. This will make your runs more accurate, Sport will make more-accurate distance and pace calculations. The Gear Sport can also auto-detect your activity once you’ve been working out for at least 10 minutes and will constantly monitor your heart rate.

Fitness Programs

Samsung introduced a new service called Fitness Programs. This comes only with the Sport. These are workout videos that people can follow along on their phone’s screen. It can also be cast onto Samsung TVs. It can also set scheduled alerts to remind the user to work out if they want to meet their goals. The Sport will also display your heart rate on the phone or TV screen so you can keep tabs on your cardio performance.

Water Resistance on Gear Sport

Gear Sport has a water resistance rating of 50 meters under the ISO standard 22810:2010. It is 5ATM certified. Although, it is not suitable for diving or high-pressure water activities. If the device or your hands are wet, they must be dried thoroughly prior to handling.

The Speedo app on the devices will deliver data to Samsung’s existing health-tracking app, Samsung Health, so users don’t need to track their swimming separately from other activities, such as running, that Samsung’s devices already track.

The Gear Sport has been seen as a feature-packed smartwatch, that inherits some best features of the Gear S3, although in a limited capacity. It comes with its own new additional tools. The Gear S3 will still remain as Samsung’s top-shelf wearable while the new Sport is a bridge device between the Fit 2 Pro band and Gear S3. It will be available in two colors, black or blue. It is compatible with both iOS and Android smartphones. Samsung is yet to announce a price for the new Gear Sport, but it is expected to be somewhere in between $200 and $300.
