The latest news on the trail of the next Tizen smartwatch, the Samsung S3, is that it will be launched on 31 August 2016, just before IFA 2016. There are a number of things that we know about the S3 and something we can assume to be correct. The S3 will retain the characteristic features of its predecessor, mainly being the round face and rotary bezel. We have heard from Inside sources that Samsung will make the physical shape of the smartwatch bigger due to popular demand.
Today, some purported images of the Gear S3 have been found online from a Walmart listing for a screen protector cover for the Gear S3. Usually companies do put placeholders on listings before the actual product has been released but we doubt this is the final look that Samsung will go for. Dare I say it these images look a bit boring and I don’t think that’s the look that Samsung will aspire to.
We do expect Samsung to launch three variants of the smartwatch – Gear S3 Classic, Gear S3 Frontier and Gear S3 Explorer.
