We reported a few days ago about the Gear S3 Frontier being on sale for $299 via Amazon for US customers, and a £50 price drop from Argos for UK customers, but today’s deal provides a little more flexibility. You don’t have to order the Gear S3 Frontier or Classic from Amazon (though you’re free to do so); you can decide to get it from Samsung’s website as well. That’s right: the Gear S3 Frontier and Gear S3 Classic have both been discounted by $50, from $349.99 to $299.99 in the US at Amazon and samsung.com.
Both the Gear S3 Frontier and Gear S3 Classic are smartwatches worth owning, with both featuring a circular Super AMOLED panel that you can’t deny alongside of other specs such as Corning’s Gorilla Glass SR+ for improved scratch resistance. IP68 water and dust certification as well as MST for Samsung’s mobile payments service, Samsung Pay, convert the Gear S3 Frontier and Gear S3 Classic into smartwatches that can meet your need, whatever the moment calls for.
The Gear S3 Frontier comes with 4G LTE out of the box, though the same can’t be said for the Gear S3 Classic on sale here (it appears as though this Gear S3 Classic is the non-LTE model; the Gear S3 Classic LTE is set to arrive at AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon in the US, though Verizon has delayed its store arrival by a few weeks. If you want the Verizon Gear S3 Classic LTE, you’ll have to wait a bit longer.
The Gear S3 features a 1.3-inch, circular Super AMOLED display with a 360 x 360p screen resolution, a 1Ghz, dual-core SoC, 768MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, and a 380mAh battery. Wireless charging is here, too, letting you avoid the frustration of “snappy” charging cradles that once graced earlier Gear smartwatches such as the Gear S. Finally, in a move that should have users across the market excited, Samsung has made the Gear S3 Frontier and Gear S3 Classic compatible with Android 4.4 KitKat and higher (Android 4.4.x, 5.0 Lollipop+, 6.0 Marshmallow+, and 7.0 Nougat+). Samsung has published an available features and compatibility list for the Gear S3 Frontier and Gear S3 Classic.
If you’re a US customer that’s been waiting for a price drop, here’s a good one. Head on over to the links below and pick up the game changer of wrist wearables.
