Launching a product is one thing but keeping it relevant for a while through updates is what makes a brand’s product stand out from the rest in my opinion which is why Apple is still the brand to compete against for every other company. On that regard, Samsung’s wearable division has been on a roll lately pushing updates after updates for their devices. In the past week, Samsung released a major value Pack update to the Gear S3 and hence taking away the cap off the Gear Sport for being the only wearable to run on Tizen 3.0 OS. Prior to that, Samsung released an update to the Gear Manager app to add support to the recently launched Gear Sport and Gear Fit2 Pro.
Now, Samsung has pushed a new OTA update to the Gear Fit2 Pro bringing it to version R365XXU2BQJ4/R365OXA2BQJ4. The update brings along some much-needed improvements to the devices along with a couple of UX changes. Here’s the complete list of changelogs that come with this update-
- App improvements
Accuracy: Heart Rate, Steps, Floors, Exercise - Exercis
UX: Water lock mode - Security patch update
- Device stability improvements, bug fixes
The Gear Fit2 Pro is the successor to the fitness-themed wearable-Samsung Gear Fit2 which features a rectangular curved Super Amoled display. It has a 5ATM certification against dust and water and can also be worn to track activities such as swimming which is the major USP of this Tizen based wearable.
If you aren’t already notified of the update, you can check for it manually in the Gear Manager/ Samsung Gear app. The app is about 22.44 MB so it wouldn’t take much time to install.
