Whilst there has been a fair amount of focus of late on Samsung’s latest wearable, the Galaxy Watch Active 2, one of its older siblings has received a software update. The Galaxy Watch SM-R800, not the LTE version, gets some firmware love.
The firmware currently spotted is R800XXU1DSL1 / R800OXA1DSL1 and it downloads at 18.19MB. We would love to tell you of the miraculous changes that you have in this software update, but unfrtuanely the only thing the changelog reveals is “Improved system reliability.” At this point, I’m not even sure how we can test that.
It is probably a good idea to go ahead and download as I haven’t heard of anything bad happening to anyone that has updated. Saying that is it still early days and the update is still not available globally.
You can test if its available by launching the galaxy wearable app -> watch software update -> download and Install -> Follow onscreen Instructions.
