New features

  • ‘Auto Pause’ Exercise
  • Automated Dynamic Workout Tracking
  • Streamlined Sets for Indoor Activities

‘Auto Pause’ Exercise
The Auto Pause feature update makes one less but crucial task for you to worry about while you are commited in your intense workout session. The new update enables the Gear Fit 2 to automatically detect breaks that the users take during their workout and also resumes tracking the session when you do so.
Automated Dynamic Workout Tracking
Samsung has also pushed in algorithms to track more activities like basketball, table tennis, badminton, dancing and football. The Gear Fit 2 hence expands its list of activities capable of tracking which previously included running, walking and elliptical and rowing session. The Gear Fit 2 registers these activities as ‘Dynamic Workout’ when users are engaged in them for more than minutes.
Streamlined Sets for Indoor Activities
The new update also enables the Gear Fit 2 to register basic repetitive exercises such as crunches, squats, star jumps and lunges. Users can feed in their desired number of sets and reps and then the Gear Fit 2 will keep a count of it. The Gear Fit 2 will also notify users after completion of a set and even advice on the break duration to be taken before starting the next set. Which kind of sounds like a virtual trainor on your wrist.
