Good news fellow smartwatch followers. There is a new Samsung firmware update available for the Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch Active2. Compared to other updates, this one is relatively minor but still improves the smartwatches. System stability and reliability will be improved by this update according to the changelog. Don’t expect any new features when you’re smartwatch has finished updating.
The version for this update is R800XXU1DTC1 for the Galaxy Watch and R820XXU1BTD3 for the Galaxy Watch Active2. The size of the update is relatively small – a measly 12.87MB for the Galaxy Watch smartwatch. No new features are going to come your way, I’m afraid. It’s likely that the update fixes some bugs as well as improving the performance and reliability of the software.
The Samsung firmware update for the Galaxy Watch Active2 and Galaxy Watch smartwatches is being released gradually. In effect, you may not see a notification for the update straightaway in the Galaxy Wearable app.
What else has been added recently?
Something else that was recently added to Samsung smartwatches is the ‘Hand Wash’ app. This app has been released in order to help users develop a healthy habit of washing their hands regularly. The user will get a notification to wash their hands and when activated, a 25-second timer will start.
