PrizePicks, the biggest name in daily fantasy sports across North America, has just brought on Mike Quigley as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). Quigley is expected to report directly to CEO Mike Ybarra and will be in charge of shaping the company’s marketing game plan.
His role includes building a top-tier marketing team, refine the brand’s vision, and leading everything from go-to-market strategy to campaign development.
Quigley previously worked at EA Games, YouTube, and Niantic, hence his move to PrizePicks is yet another example of a gaming industry veteran making the jump into the world of gambling and fantasy sports. Niantic skyrocketed to fame with the launch of Pokémon Go, and Quigley played a key role in shaping the brand during its biggest moments, making it one of the most recognizable names in mobile gaming.

Looking back on his time at Niantic, Quigley shared some words on LinkedIn: “After an incredible and truly epic 12-year journey, I will be stepping off ‘…the good ship Niantic….’ While this decision was not made lightly, I feel it’s the right time for me to pursue my next adventure.”
PrizePicks continues expansion as new CMO appointed
Last April, PrizePicks announced big plans to expand its operations with a brand-new 33,000-square-foot headquarters in Atlanta. The new office will be in the Star Metals Building in Midtown, marking a major milestone as the company looks to add 1,000 new jobs over the next seven years.
It could see a massive $25 million profit for the state of Georgia. While it’s still unclear which departments will see the most growth and exactly when hiring will kick off, the expansion signals momentum for PrizePicks and its future in the fantasy sports industry.
However, as Quigley steps into his new role at PrizePicks, the company is also dealing with a legal battle against Vetnos, LLC. The dispute centers around patents related to skill-based, fixed-odds fantasy sports games, with Vetnos claiming PrizePicks has infringed on multiple patents.
Just yesterday (Feb. 3), PrizePicks pushed to dismiss a key infringement claim, arguing the patent is invalid under US law. On top of that, the company has filed counterclaims, as the legal fight continues in the US District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
