Pokemon TCG Pocket release date finally announced with new trailer from World Championships 2024

The Pokemon Trading Card game has only gone from strength to strength in recent years, introducing a plethora of new card variants that are not only nice and shiny, the artwork has also been elevated to new heights.

However, if your stacks of rectangular cardboard are taking over your room, enter Pokemon TCG Pocket – the virtual pack opening experience that houses all of your glorious rares in one virtual space.

Pokemon TCG Pocket was announced back in February and gained instant popularity due to the fancy animations coupled with the multifunctionality of collecting, trading, and even battling.

While there’ll obviously be a payment for packs, surprisingly, you’ll also be given two completely free packs per day which should keep you locked into the experience even if you don’t want to spend a penny.

Unfortunately, the only ‘release date’ shown was a very broad 2024, leaving prospective fans wanting as to when they can enjoy some virtual pack ripping.

Now, thanks to the 2024 Pokemon World Championships Closing Ceremony, there has been a brand new trailer for the app, accompanied by an official launch date.

Pokemon TCG Pocket will release on October 30, 2024 for iOS and Android and you can pre-register now on your preferred device.

Sadly, there are no listed benefits for pre-registering apart from getting the app ready for download on the aforementioned release date, but at least you’ll be prepped to receive your first two packs right away.

This new trailer also teased a crazy Mewtwo card, showcasing the legendary ‘mon breaking out of a window.

This is an ex variant of card that also shares the same immersive properties of the already revealed Pikachu ex that travels through the artwork.

These beautiful ex cards are only the beginning though and when new sets release, we’re sure everyone’s collections will become more and more pleasing.
