Pokemon TCG Pocket has only just launched but we’re already into event territory with the game, giving you the chance to pick up some exclusive cards.
The event we’ll be running you through here is all focused around Lapras ex, an extremely useful pickup that is a nice, enhanced version of the base fan-favorite Pokemon.
Let’s get into the Pokemon TCG Pocket Lapras ex event details and what promo cards are on offer so you can keep going toward a complete collection.
What is the Lapras ex event in Pokemon TCG Pocket?
The Lapras ex event is the first fully-fledged event in Pokemon TCG Pocket that offers you the chance to secure some nice limited-time promo cards.
Here are the promo cards you can get your hands on:
- Lapras ex
- Butterfree
- Clefairy
- Pikachu
- Mankey
This event is all about battling, requiring you to get some solo battles going to tick off some event tasks.
It is available between November 5 and November 18, 2024 so make sure you either make some strong decks or use the Best Rental Decks to secure the victories.
Something to note here is that there is ‘event stamina’ in place with each battle requiring some to start it.
This is akin to the Wonder Pick system which refreshes over time and can be gained faster with Event Hourglasses.
The battles start off easy and then really ramp up so you may need to wait for this event stamina to regen if you end up failing in those later rounds.
How to get Lapras ex and event promo cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket
As previously mentioned, this event is primarily focused on solo battles in Pokemon TCG Pocket and as you would expect, you’ll need to win these battles in order to secure some rewards.
Head into the solo battles portion of the game and into the ‘Lapras ex Drop Event’ section where you can start making inroads.
The frustrating part about this though is that the one card promo packs that you can earn aren’t guaranteed and instead, are ‘Chance Rewards’ that may or may not drop.
If you do get one though, you’ll have to head to your Gift Box and claim it from here, it isn’t in the usual packs section.
Once you open it, you’ll have a shot at one of the aforementioned Promo-A cards in the above list.
While it doesn’t explicitly state the odds of each card, we believe it is 1 in 5, making it an equal chance, since the in-game guide suggests that they are ‘chosen randomly’.
