Last week, we reported that Sberbank of Russia now supports Samsung Pay payment platform. Now, Rosselkhozbank has followed the same trend. Rosselkhozbank is an agricultural (Agrobank), which is completely owned by the Government of Russia. Cardholders of Rosselkhozbank now have access to Samsung Pay service. Owners of compatible Samsung smartphones and wearable devices can now enjoy this convenient and secure platform of paying for goods and services.
Samsung Pay was launched in Russia on the 29th September 2016. It supports both NFC technology (Near Field Communication) and MST (Magnetic Secure Transmission) thus payments can literally be made anywhere using this contactless technology. With MST, payments can be done not only on NFC terminals but also where contactless cards are not supported. At the moment, over 15 banks in Russia supports this payment method and more banks are expected to join in the near future.

Thus, the banks’ customers can enjoy easy shopping and be assured that their data is under reliable protection, “- said El Hakim Safe, marketing director of Samsung Mobile in Russia.
“Agricultural Banks are consistently developing its card business and remote banking services, paying particular attention to the implementation of new technologies and services, to enhance the convenience and security of transactions using cards of the Bank”, – said Deputy Chairman of Rosselkhozbank, Irina Zhachkina.
For now, Samsung Pay is supported by Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge (NFC only), Galaxy Note5, Galaxy A7 (2017), Galaxy A5 (2017), Galaxy A3 (2017), Galaxy A7 (2016), Galaxy A5 (2016), Galaxy J7 (2017), Galaxy J5 (2017), as well as Gear S3 Classic and Frontier. In order to use the service on the Samsung Gear S3 Classic and Frontier, users need to press and hold the “Back” button on the Gear S3 case, select the card rotating bezel and click “Pay”.
Please note that Samsung Pay does not involve any additional fee either from issuing banks, acquiring banks or trading companies.
