This is a quick Tip aimed at developers by the Nokia Nordic Blog:
If you would like to ensure our Nokia N9 users will have a perfect user experience when browsing your web pages, please have a look at the simple instructions below for how to make sure you identify Nokia N9 correctly and display the best possible page for that device. If you already have iPhone or Android optimized web pages, your job is already half done.
The new Nokia N9 comes with an excellent browser featuring HTML5 and all you or your web master needs to do is to include the N9 UA string “Mozilla/5.0 (MeeGo;NokiaN9) AppleWebKit/534.13 (KHTML, like Gecko) NokiaBrowser/8.5.0 Mobile Safari/534.13” which will identify the device properly.
And while you are at it, why not have a check up on how our most popular Symbian phones, now upgraded to Anna with its new much improved browser, behave on your web pages. I would recommend looking at devices like Nokia N8, C7, E7, X7, E6 and C6-01.
For more information about this, UA strings for other Nokia phones with big screens and good browser, like our Symbian Anna & Belle phones, please have a look at this link.
