We have had some hysteria following the massive update for the Samsung wearable watches. The Initial update was for the One UI, bringing a similar type of styling to both Samsung mobile smartphones as well as their smartwatch devices. The update, that is currently available for the Gear S3 Bluetooth version, is for software/firmware version R760XXU2CRK2. Download size is only 10.17MB.
Whats new?
The latest update fixes an issue with sudden One UI battery drain when these smartwatches are connected to certain smartphone models. Samsung have not stipulated exactly which models these are. Another major improvement is said to be Improved reliability of downloading Apps from the Galaxy App Store.
When will Galaxy Watch and Gear S3 LTE get this update?
This One UI sudden battery drain update is currently being rolled out in the US with an Over the air software update. It’s hoped the Galaxy Watch and Gear S3 LTE updates to follow in the next few days in the US. Europe, Asia and other markets shouldn’t be that far behind and usually get the update within the next few weeks.
