Marko Ahtisaari, Senior Vice President, Design on the design of Nokia N9:
The Nokia N9 embodies the latest mobile device user experience designed by Nokia. It builds on the notion that there is a better way to create device interfaces, beyond those currently available that truly match the needs of people using a touch screen device.
When designing the Nokia N9, some of key goals were to maximize the size of the screen, to allow one handed use, to permit a “heads up” usage paradigm, and to allow users to move from one task to another efficiently.
The Nokia N9 user interface can be found from swipe.nokia.com and developer.nokia.com/swipe. Both these sites provide additional information about the product, its ethos, and its development.
Tell us what you think about N9!
The best ideas will be reviewed by Nokia user interface designers.
