Monster Hunter Wilds second beta is coming in February

Monster Hunter Wilds is gearing up for its 28 February release date, and it’ll be holding two betas for eager players to try out.

Wilds’ first beta was released last year, offering a brief glimpse into what Capcom’s team had been cooking up. It wasn’t the best received, owing to performance issues across the board. However, with months of work since then, players should expect a more stable game.

When does the second Monster Hunter Wilds beta start?

You’ll be able to play the beta through the following dates:

  • Feb 6, 2025 – Feb 9, 2025
  • Feb 13, 2025 – Feb 16, 2025

Both betas launch at 7 pm Pacific Time, which, when converted should start at these local times:

  • 7 pm Pacific Time
  • 10 pm Eastern Time
  • 3 am UK time
  • 4 am UTC

The beta is open to all players, including those who aren’t subscribed to PlayStation Plus and Xbox’s online services (Game Pass and Live).

This OBT 2 Bonus Item Pack comes with:

  • Raw Meat x10
  • Shock Trap x3
  • Pitfall Trap x3
  • Tranq Bomb x10
  • Large Barrel Bomb x3
  • Armor Sphere x5
  • Flash Pod x10
  • Large Dung Pod x10

Capcom are bringing back the Gypceros monster for players to hunt, along with one masked with “Coming Soon”. Gypceros hasn’t been seen in a mainline game since Generations Ultimate, which launched on the Nintendo Switch in 2018.

The hunting action game is Capcom’s latest in the long-running series, introducing a new open-world system. Originally released on the PS2, Monster Hunter has become a worldwide phenomenon, taking Japan by storm during the mid-2000s.

It’s one of the sole reasons Sony’s PSP lasted so long in Japan. In 2010, Monster Hunter Freedom 3 saw the PSP skyrocket from 30-40,000 sales to nearly 350,000.
