Back in August 2016, when Samsung unveiled its first 4G enabled Tizen device- the Samsung Z2 in India with a free Jio sim, the company had some of Jio’s apps preloaded on the smartphone which included Jio Music, Jio Cinema and JioXpressNews. However, Jio TV was not available on Tizen at that time which led to disappointment among Z2 users. Now, Jio has finally released the Jio TV app for the Samsung Z2 which lets users watch over 300 live HD and SD TV channels for free.
Indian mobile network operator Jio rose to instant popularity within a matter of days since going live in the country. The company surpassed the 100 million subscribers mark back in February thanks to its free unlimited calls and 4G internet that the company offered to its subscribers as part of its testing phase. At launch, Jio had also released a suite of mobile applications (as we mentioned earlier) to its users on Android smartphones such as Jio Money, Jio Music, Jio Cinema, Jio TV, etc. Some of these applications such as Jio Tv, Jio Music and Jio Cinema became very popular as it provided users with free multimedia content at no subscription fee.
Jio will be terminating its free service on the 15th of April and has announced a couple interesting recharge offers to retain its subscribers post the free service period. The most notable offer among these is the Rs. 99+303 package dubbed as the Jio Summer Surprise offer. Users who subscribe to the Jio Prime service by recharging with Rs. 99 and then recharge with a minimum of Rs. 303 (or any higher value pack) enables users to continue getting the free unlimited data and voice call service until the end of July 2017.
