Samsung unveiled the Gear Sport and the new Gear IconX during the IFA 2017 in Berlin. They also announced that from October 27 both the devices will be available for purchase in select markets.
These two devices are the newest addition to the Samsung’s range of fitness devices. Both devices are seen as being innovative wearables that are uniquely designed to meet the varying lifestyle and the needs of consumers.
The Gear Sport
The Gear Sport is one of the stylish fitness-oriented devices in the market. The device has a minimalistic circular bezel. and comes with a certification of 5ATM. This means the device is waterproof up to 50mts. This means that the device is safe to wear while walking in the rain or showering, and may be used for shallow-water activities such as swimming in a pool or the ocean.
The device also has the LTE Cat 4 150Mb/s for network connectivity. It packs a 1GHz Dual-core processor coupled with a Mali-T720 MP1 GPU. The processor is supported by a 768MB of RAM. It also comes with the Bixby Support.
However, it should not be used for scuba diving, waterskiing or other activities involving sudden temperature changes or high-velocity water. The device also has an inbuilt GPS.
The device also has Spotify‘s offline support, thus making the device independent of a mobile device. In association with Under Armour and Speedo, Samsung has enabled practical fitness experiences, as well as an enhanced user interface. The watch has a sleek look and has ergonomic straps. These straps are a variety of 20 mm straps and a number of customizable watch faces. Thus the Gear Sport is a fitness tracker and a stylish Smartwatch rolled into one. The device has been priced at $299 USD.
The Gear IconX (2018)
The Gear IconX is a lightweight, cord-free earbuds. It also provides a secure and comfortable fit. The IconX is perfect for active users who are constantly on the go. It also has a built-in Running Coach, this means it has in-ear automatic activity tracking.
The device also has music playback capabilities with hassle-free controls. The earbuds also come with an inbuilt storage of 4GB. In Addition to this, the device also comes with a long-lasting battery. Thus making sure that the users always have access to the features.
The devices will be available in a limited amount of countries. This includes South Korea, USA, Canada and select European Markets. The devices will continue rolling out to additional markets in the following weeks.
