Samsung has released a couple of wearables in recent times. These devices come with state-of-the-art features and functions that many may not know about if not told. The Samsung Gear S3, Gear Sport, and Gear Fit2 Pro are the most recent wearables from the South Korean manufacturing giant. While the Gear S3 was announced at IFA 2016, the Gear Sport and Gear Fit2 Pro were announced at IFA 2017. In this article, we provide you with a detailed USER MANUAL for each of these devices.
Samsung Gear S3
As stated earlier, the Samsung Gear S3 was released just over a year ago and it is a Tizen-powered wearable with stunning features. The display of this smartwatch uses a Corning’s Gorilla Glass SR+ protected circular 1.3-inch 360×360 Super AMOLED display which means that it is completely resistant to all kinds of scratches. In terms of certification, the Gear S3 is MIL-STD-810G and IP68 certified meaning it is water and dust resistant. Its rotating bezel and touchscreen functions makes navigation through this smartwatch seamless. It houses a 380mAh battery which is compatible with wireless charging and can last for 3 to 4 days depending on usage. However, there is currently an update which ports the Gear S3 to Tizen 3.0 OS. There are other features with the update like “Watch Only Mode” which should extend the battery life by 40 days. It further supports making/receiving calls and sending/receiving SMS and other messages if paired with a smartphone. It is compatible with Android 4.4 or higher as well as iOS 9.0 or later. Other features of the Gear S3 Frontier include an altimeter, barometer, gyroscope, Bluetooth connectivity, Wi-Fi, GPS / GLONASS navigation, Near Field Communication (NFC) and Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST). Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro
The Gear Fit2 Pro is a lightweight wearable which weighs only 34g with a dimension of 216 x 432. In terms of hardware, it comes with 512MB RAM coupled with 4GB internal storage which can be expanded to 2GB. It uses a 1.5-inch 216 x 432 Curved Super AMOLED display and has a 200mAh battery which can deliver 3-4 days talk time and a 5 days standby time. Tizen 2.3 takes care of the operations of this fitness tracker which is 5-ATM water resistant and can track water-related activities up to 150 feet. The product comes with GPS and WiFi 802.11 b / g / n 2.4GHz, heart rate sensor, gyroscope, barometer, and accelerometer. The S-Health app is instantly triggered to track swimming, the Speedo app can do this as well but you will miss out on the real-time heart rate monitoring. Samsung Gear Sport
The Samsung Gear Sport is a stylish wearable that weighs only 50 grams and it uses a Super AMOLED 1.2-inch screen with 360 x 360 resolution display resolution. It is powered by a 1GHz Dual-core processor and its operation is seamless with the 768MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. This wearable supports Samsung’s new voice assistant, Bixby thus operability of this product will be seamless. Interestingly, it can be used to control Samsung IoT-enabled devices through Samsung Connect as well as Samsung Gear VR headset. Just like the Gear Fit2 Pro, this wearable features 5 ATM thus can be used within 150 feet or 50 m of water. It’s S Health app compatibility ensures that health parameters can be tracked using this wearable. Additionally, the Sport includes a heart rate monitor and is able to detect activity and in-depth sleep. It also includes Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS and a 300mAh battery.
