If you are a Gear S2 or Gear S3 user who has been tinkering with all sorts of applications that the Galaxy apps store has to offer for the smartwatches, just for the sake of knowing how powerful a smartwatch can be or to test its limit. Then playing games on them should certainly be on top your list as they demand a lot from the hardware. One such game that could pose a challenge to your Gear S2 or S3 is Gameloft’s Asphalt 6 Adrenaline.
We are pretty sure that the game would ring a bell to a few of you smartphone gamers as this is the exact same game from yesteryear which was once a huge hit on Android and iOS smartphones. The Asphalt series is unarguably one of the best racing games for smartphones and is still going strong with the current title in the series Asphalt 8 Airbourne. While it might take some time to see Asphalt 8 running on a wearable, the Asphalt 6 is certainly welcome for the Tizen wearable platform and is something that Gear S2 and Gear S3 users can use to show off with their friends and acquaintances.
We have seen some really crazy things being done on smartwatches in the past such as running full fledged Windows OS, running the very popular counter strike and even GTA. However, these were being run on smartwatches from another platform such as the Apple watch and Android wear owing to a larger development community. Tizen, on the other hand, is still a growing platform and doesn’t come close the developer community that Android and iOS possess. But things started to change when Samsung chose Tizen as the platform for its smartwatches. The Gear S2 and Gear S3 which run on Tizen are unarguably the best smartwatches coming from Samsung till date.
Coming back to the point, the Gear S2 and Gear S3’s hardware, more specifically the processor, GPU, and RAM are pretty much on the same level (if not, better) than the smartwatches from other platforms we mentioned earlier running not-smartwatch specific programs. So the Asphalt 6 game can be seen as a first of many more unique applications heading on their way to the Tizen wearable platform.
The game is just 6 MB on the store and once installed, you will have to download additional files to start zooming the streets on your smartwatch.
