Last month we saw Samsung announce a new competition, in collaboration with the watchface platform Facer and blog aBlogtoWatch, encouraging designers and developers to create the Best Digital Face for the Samsung Gear S3 smartwatch. The contest ran until March 1st, 2017 and the results are now in.
The company was overwhelmed with the response, as they had over 2,000 submissions to sift through. The panel of judges included world-renowned watch designer Yvan Arpa, a BlogtoWatch founder Ariel Adams and Ariel Vardi, Co-founder of Little Labs, the team behind Facer.
The watchface submissions were evaluated on quality, creativity and innovative use of the smartwatch platform. The Gear S3 watchface design contest’s winning entry is: MbM–Aileron 2 Gold, by John Morga!
