Yesterday, Samsung have released an update for the Gear S3 frontier. The update is to patch a bug that many users have been experiencing with S Voice crashing when they are trying to reply to a text message using voice dictation. Some suffered performance issues when trying to retrieve Information, but didn’t have it crashing. This problem seems to only effect users who are using the US English language.
Allegedly this bug was introduced in Samsung’s previous value pack update, that was released back in May with a load of additional features. So some users have been feeling a bit neglected with the amount of time that they have had to wait for the bug to be fixed. In the meanwhile people have been trying a workaround, trying to use UK English, but this doesn’t seem an adequate solution possibly due to the difference in accents.
Now, update R760XXU2BQG4, which is only a 14.17MB download, has been specifically released for this bug “S Voice – Accuracy and performance improvements”. The update is being push out globally and you should receive a download notification. You can manually check for the update by launching Gear Manager -> About Gear -> Update Gear Software -> Download updates manually. As this is a global roll out you might have to wait for it released for your country.
