Earlier this week, we reported that Samsung Gear S3 Frontier Special Edition will be celebrating the Portuguese Air Force (FAP) 65th Anniversary and by so doing, it is the first smartwatch to be associated with military aeronautics. The Samsung Gear S3 Frontier is not just any wearable, it is a military grade smartwatch with extraordinary abilities and its perfect for the celebration FAP’s 65th anniversary. Samsung Portugal has made a good mark by adding a FAP official display to the Gear S3. This display was developed by Brandt, a team of Portuguese programmers, based on the specifications provided by FAP’s Pilots, from the Combat and Air Defense, Training, Transport, Surveillance and Search and Rescue Squadrons.

The display of the Gear S3 Frontier will have a customized eagle appearing at 12 o’clock accompanied with the inscription “Portuguese Air Force”. Also, there is an alternative display that shows the Portuguese flag in a continuous circular display which is a symbol of the consistent availability of FAP soldiers to serve whenever and wherever they are called upon to.

The Gear S3 Frontier is a Tizen-powered smartwatch which features a circular 1.3-inch 360×360 Super AMOLED display and a Corning’s Gorilla Glass SR+ for improved scratch resistance. The Gear S3 is powered by an Exynos 7270 dual-core processor coupled with 768 MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory. The Tizen OS and 1GHz Exynos 7270 processor team up together to give you a seamless user interface.
