GameBoy Advance (GBA) Emulator Compatible with Samsung Gear S2 and Gear S3

GBA Emulator is an app that is designed to run GameBoy Advanced games on the Samsung Gear S2 and Gear S3. This is a different app to the GameBoy Emulator that we previously covered. This emulator is very fast, well-featured and does not include any ROMs. You need to legally obtain ROMs for this app and transfer them to any folder on your smartwatch. When downloading the emulator, it looks for all ROM files stored in the watch. We strongly suggest the use of Filesmaster which supports the transfer of files from a phone to a watch. Filesmaster easily differentiates ROM files and it supports the extraction of ZIP archives.

Have it in mind that this is only an emulator thus some games will probably not run smoothly. For optimum performance, we suggest the use of a real GameBoy device. The key features of this emulator include 100% speed, searching for ROM files automatically, fullscreen mode, using rotation bezel to control JoyPad buttons and saving/loading game states. This emulator is a Tizen native app which is designed for Samsung Gear smartwatches. It finds ROM files automatically but the user must put ROM files with extension .gba in the Gear file system.

How to use?

To load the downloaded ROM file(s), you can either rotate the bezel left/right or simply choose load ROM. If you load by rotating the bezels, it only works when no ROM is on, subsequently, you will use the menu. After successfully loading the first ROM file, the rotating bezel then serves as Select (gesture left) and Start (gesture right) buttons. Please see the video below to understand the process better.

For those with iPhones, we suggest the use of Filesmaster Standalone. It uses Bluetooth to receive files and it is not a companion app. You can easily transfer files to your smartphone with Bluetooth plugin on a desktop. For more information, please visit the Filesmaster homepage.

There are limited spaces on the display thus a few buttons can be gotten through another way. Keys: L – gesture swipe left, R – gesture swipe right, SELECT – rotating bezel left, START – rotating bezel right.

LEGAL NOTE: GBA Emulator is in no way associated with the Nintendo Corporation or its affiliates or subsidiaries
