As we all think that the Galaxy Watch Active 2 will launch soon, Samsung seems to have been preparing for it. The demo models of the Galaxy Watch Active 2 that would go on sale were certified by the WiFi Alliance. This also hints that the smartwatch may launch alongside the Note 10 on August 7th in the Samsung unpacked event, although this has been a theory for some time now.
What is the WiFi Alliance? The WiFi Alliance is a global network of companies that strive to bring you WiFi. They work to make sure that users get the “interoperability, security, and reliability they have come to expect”.
The models of the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 are to be shown to retail stores around the globe. The model numbers of the smartwatches are SM-R820X, SM-R825X, SM-RX30X, SM-RX35X. The “X” meaning the demo models of the Galaxy Watch Active 2. The model numbers for the devices were certified on the 24th of July – not long ago.
The watch itself will come in 40mm and 44mm versions. They both have WiFi and LTE variants. As we discovered a couple of days ago, instead of a physically rotating bezel, the watch will have a Touch Bezel. The health features of the watch are quite exciting. The watch will have an electrocardiogram (ECG), fall detections and afib notifications. As the ECG needs approval from the US FDA (Food and Drug Administration) it may not be ready for the release of Watch Active 2.
