Some people didn’t quite think that smartwatches would become a ‘thing’ and slowly, but surely, the tech faithful have started to embrace them. Major companies such as Samsung, Google and Apple have invested in this new area of technology with their Gear, Pixel and Apple watches respectively. You may not have heard but Fossil has unveiled their own Wear OS based smartwatches – the Fossil Q Venture and the Fossil Q Explorist HR. Why didn’t you hear about this? Well, they, Fossil, quietly unveiled their two new watches during the Android Pie new announcement yesterday.
These watches both have the Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor powering them, which is over two years old at this stage, but bring features that were missing on previous Fossil watches. These features are a built-in GPS, NFC (Near Field Communication) for Google Pay, a heart-rate sensor and a “swim-proof functionality”. The Fossil Q Venture and the Fossil Q Explorist HR both have the regular round screens that also have the metal design of a normal watch.
Both of the watches have a starting price of $255 and can go up to $275 depending on the colour or band style you pick for your watch. You can pre-order these watches on Fossil’s own website.
