When Bixby launched, she supported only English and Korean languages, not surprising since Samsung is a Korean company and English is the most popular and most widely spoken language in the world.
Although Samsung seems to be taking its time, they are gradually bringing on other languages to the AI digital assistant, Bixby. Functions of Bixby include to talk, see, remind and recommend. Bixby is programmed to obey commands and answer questions. Last month was the launch of the Chinese version of Bixby.
This month brings another language on board, the second most spoken language in the world, after English: Spanish. That means Samsung’s Bixby now supports four languages: English, Korean, Chinese and Spanish. The new add came with a new upgrade on the digital assistant. Other languages would probably be added in the nearest future.
Adding Spanish closely after launching the Chinese version is probably not a surprise. Although Spanish is widely spoken worldwide, Chinese on the other hand has a large number of native speakers.
At the moment, it appears the upgrade is available only in the United States and Samsung has made no official comment as to whether the upgrade will be rolled out for other countries soon. We want to believe they are following the standard procedure of releasing new updates by releasing it in a phased manner to specific persons. So, we’re optimistic other countries would be able to access the Spanish Bixby soonest. But for now, only English and Korean are available. If you’re curious about whether your Samsung phone supports Bixby Spanish, follow these steps:
- Launch Bixby.
- Check settings through the three-dot button at the top right.
- Scroll down till you find the Language and Speaking style option.
- Tap on the Language option.
