Excitement for Elden Ring Nightreign, the multiplayer-focused spin-off of the From Software roleplaying game, is currently sending out beta invites. These network tests are designed to put the servers and game to work before it officially launches later this year.
However, several exclusive codes have gone and found themselves on eBay. Resellers in the US have priced the code from $50 to $300, while in the UK, cheeky users have it from a starting bid of £30 ($37) to a buy-it-now price of £400 ($496).
The ludicrous prices for a free network test aren’t the first time From Software’s Elden Ring was put up on eBay. In 2021, before the release of the game in February 2022, the main game’s network test was going for nearly $300 in some cases.
No buyers appear to be interested, and it does seem like eBay is taking down some egregious offenders. Of course, we recommend you don’t buy one of these and simply wait for the next round of sign-ups or the full release.
Bandai Namco has shuttered sign-ups for now, but we’d expect a second or third network test later in 2025 as the game ramps up for release. Elden Ring followed a similar pattern before it launched.
Revealed at The Game Awards, Elden Ring Nightreign is a three-player cooperative game that sees you tackle the many enemies from the game. Over three in-game days, you and your party will have to prepare for the final boss, while the world around you shrinks, limiting where and what you can do.
From Software will be running the network test from February 14 to 17, separated into three-hour blocks. This is only on consoles, with no PC stress test planned as of right now. Nightreign itself has no set date but is scheduled for a 2025 release.
