Elden Ring Nightreign beta tests are off to a rough start as players struggle to log on to servers. The invite-only network tests for FromSoftware’s latest game are live, running from February 14 to February 17.
A small portion of randomly chosen players were sent invite codes days before the network tests went live. Some even paid up to $500 on eBay for the codes just to play early.
When the game was first announced, a lot of players weren’t sure what to expect. With the network tests, the community’s curiosity would have been answered.
However, players have already begun reporting login issues, and some are getting kicked out of games before matchmaking.
According to Forbes, servers on PlayStation were forced to be taken down to perform maintenance. Yet another issue with PlayStation Network this week.
While it is disappointing, it comes as no surprise. Bandai Namco has expressed in the past that the game is still in development and that the tests were being conducted to stress test server performance.
On X, the official Elden Ring Nightreign account addressed outcries from players over the game’s lackluster performance.
The post reads: “The first session of the #ELDENRING #NIGHTREIGN Network Test has ended. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the game server issues. Work is currently ongoing to improve the stability of the Network Test. An additional Network Test session is being considered. Thank you.”
It’s not just players facing this issue. Several streamers, content creators, and game journalists have also shared their experiences with the game.
There will be more opportunities to jump back into the game in the next coming days, though some are taking place in unsocial timeframes to cater to different time zones.
The network tests allow players to get their hands on Elden Ring Nightreign early before its official release on May 30, 2025.
