You can now use Samsung Pay at 250 RAKBANK’s ATM points in the UAE

In Samsung’s ongoing mission to establish Samsung Pay as a globally accepted mode of smart contactless mobile payment solution, we have seen and reported on all the partnerships the company has made with banks, retail outlets, POS firms, etc around the world. The latest in this line of expansion comes from the UAE (United Arab Emirates) where RAKBANK, one of the leading banks in the UAE have now started accepting Samsung Pay at more than 250 ATM points in the country in partnership with Diebold Nixdorf, the leader in driving connected commerce.
Diebold Nixdorf were the first in the world to enable a live deployment and direct interaction between a phone and an ATM, now the company have brought their experience into play for their clients RANBANK. Users who have a Samsung Pay enabled smartphone or smartwatch (Once the Gear S2 and Gear S3 gets Samsung Pay support in the country) that has been linked to a credit or debit card on their Samsung Pay account can complete transactions by tapping their device on the NFC reader and then authenticate it with the relevant pin.
Since some of Samsung older devices which includes the Gear S2 do not come with the MST feature for contactless payment and only rely on NFC, RANBANK’s solution gets to have more device support for Samsung Pay thus generating more transactions.

Peter England, CEO of RAKBANK was quoted saying-

“We are the first bank in the Middle East to launch Samsung Pay solutions to ATMs and it not only simplifies the customer experience when withdrawing cash, but also offers them the utmost convenience, We are delighted to have worked with Diebold Nixdorf and Samsung Pay to take advantage of this innovative and reliable digital service. RAKBANK is fully committed to placing our customers’ needs first and providing them with highly convenient, secure, and simple digital banking services,”
