Great news today as VLC media player, commonly known as VLC, the portable, free and open-source, cross-platform media player and streaming media server becomes available in the Tizen Store. VLC media player supports a huge range of audio and video file formats, codecs and streaming protocols, so this is a great addition to the Tizen app ecosystem. We have support for hardware acceleration and subtitles which includes complex text scripts.
As promised by the VideoLAN project this is a native VLC app, not a repackaged android app or HTML 5 app, so you can enjoy full performance. Oh it is also open source. Grab it now from the Tizen Store and its only a 9.64MB download.
