App: FreeCharge – Mobile Recharge for Samsung Z3 Tizen Smartphone

The Samsung Z3 being priced under the mid-range category along with some decent specs (most notably the 5 inch Super Amoled HD display) and the kind of Brand value that Samsung carries here in India has seen a decent adoption rate to the Tizen OS based smartphone. This growing userbase is slowly attracting app developers to bring in their services and content to Tizen’s platform and such an example today is the popular e-wallet app

Freecharge, with a user base of over 5 million, the Snapdeal owned Freecharge is looking on to grab hold of potential customers from the Tizen community now that its main competitior Paytm has still not explored the platform. Freecharge doesn’t seem to have cut any of the services it provides on its Android or iOS app, and feels like a complete port of their Android app.
To those, who haven’t heard about Freecharge yet. It is a popular online service in India that lets users easily manage and pay their bills be it Mobile/DTH/Data Card recharges, Electricity, Gas,Telephone bills or even Metro tickets (in some places) and in return, users are rewarded with coupons that provide discounts on foods and service from other brands or even cashbacks. Apart from recharges, Freecharge is also integrated into its parent e-commerce company Snapdeal to handle transactions seamlessly with Freecharge credits (money stored in a user’s Freecharge wallet). And just yesterday, Freecharge had announced a partnership with Global Fast Food Chain Giants McDonald’s to handle payments offline right from a user’s phone that has the Freecharge app.

The arrival of such a huge player into Tizen’s mobile platform itself shows its growing popularity and can be seen as a promise for more potential surprises up in the future!
