Amazon Go App on Google Play: Your ticket to cashier-less shopping

Today, January 22nd, E-Commerce giant Amazon is ready to open its checkout-free Amazon Go convenience store in Seattle. The store which is located at 2131 7th Avenue WA, Seattle and will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Friday. A corresponding app has also been released to Google Play. The Amazon Go app will afford its users the opportunity to shop by grabbing anything they want and “just walk out” as advertised by Amazon.
The new Amazon Go store is a reinvention of the physical store only this time you will be eliminating the strenuous process of a manual checkout. The store utilizes the use of sensors which scans your QR codes as you check in and cameras to keep track of which items you take and their prices,  your Amazon account is automatically debited for whatever you take out of the store.
The store is only available in Seattle and basically out of reach for most shoppers who would like to experience the Amazon Go in action. The company is yet to expand the scope of its technology to other retail locations like Whole Foods. The 1,800 square feet store offers a variety of ready-to-eat breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks, groceries such as staples like bread and milk, cheeses and locally made chocolates.
The app gives you a quick demonstration of the Amazon Go process on the first launch. It is designed in such a way that it can work with friends and family. If you head out to the store as a group you will have to scan them in one after the other with the same phone or code. The stores tracking is precise enough to detect and distinguish between customers and their items selected.
The Amazon Go store which was supposed to launch in early 2017 but was held back by technical issues will be ready to take its customers on a tour today. Whether you are in Seattle or not you can download the Amazon Go app on Google Play, as well as on Amazon’s App Store and check out, the impressive learning-powered tracking technology behind the store.
