Adobe has confirmed that they have some Interesting features coming to their photo editing app Premiere Pro. With this next release, Premiere Pro expands its current support for codecs to also include native support for HEVC (h.265), DNxHR, and OpenEXR media, for both encode and decode, which means that editors can export any format that they need.
The HEVC (H.265), High Efficiency Video Coding, is used in the Tizen based Samsung NX1 Smart Camera to encode video to double the data compression ratio compared to H.264/MPEG-4 AVC (Advanced Video Coding) at the same level of video quality.
One of the problems with adopting cutting edge technology is that Industry support is sometimes lagging, as was the case with the H.265 codec. Adobe Premier is the first major video editing title that will support H.265 which is great news for many users. Personally I am waiting for Final Cut Studio X to also bring on the support!
There future update is said to come later this year with no exact date.
