Recently, there were many rumors that Samsung was working on a new wearable device. Samsung confirmed it by unveiling the new Gear Fit 2 Pro, a fitness tracking wearable device. At the end of the Galaxy Note 8 launch event yesterday, Samsung also confirmed that a new Smartwatch would be available soon, possibly the Gear S4.
DJ Koh, the Korean tech giants head of mobile, revealed to CNBC that “the next generation of the Gear S series of smartwatches will be launched at IFA next week”. Samsung has always released new wearable devices at the IFA. Hence we are not so surprised to hear about the impending release of a new Samsung Smartwatch. This could obviously be the Gear S4, which would be a successor in the Gear S line, but then we could also see the launch of the Gear Sport and Gear Fit2Pro. Can someone say “Three Tizen Wearables” ???

There are not a lot of details available about this new smartwatch. We can also assume this new smartwatch will ship with Bixby, Samsung’s own personal assistant that was globally launched recently and will run Tizen 3.0 wearable platform. Usually, a device successor will have updates like a faster processor and improved battery life. However, we can not comment on the major design changes that a Gear S4 may or may not happen when compared to the predecessor. We will be bringing you the latest news and updates from the IFA 2017 Berlin when Samsung unveils its brand new smartwatch.
