Samsung is staying busy these days. After rolling out the new value pack update for the Gear S3 worldwide last month, and now bringing Samsung Pay to UK Gear S3 users, Samsung is now rolling out another Gear S3 update for USA users. The new update brings quite a few new features, among them the option to add date and music complications to select watch faces, a new auto refresh for the Alti-Barometer, reminder date and times for S Voice, a TTS option in Settings with additional languages available for download, and an Auto Switch feature for the Gear S2, Gear S3, and Gear Fit2.
Find My Device gets a new contact info display feature in the event your Gear S3 gets lost, and iOS gets UX enhancements such and bug fixes for S Voice recognition, Connection Stability, and PC Music Transfer. The Stop Watch time has been increased to 3 hours, and the News Briefing UI lets you read news more comfortably than before. These features match what UK and Germany Gear S3 users received as a 130MB update at the end of March and appears to have rolled out to the AT&T Gear S3 Frontier LTE model, according to one user. You should see the upate move Tizen OS from 2.3.2.0 to 2.3.2.3.
One pleasant surprise with the US Gear S3 update is that Samsung is now making new partner apps available in the Galaxy App Store for use on your wrist: Spotify, which was released for the Gear S3 and Gear S2 five months ago, BMW Connected (released in February of this year), Gear for Nest, Facer, an app released in December for the Gear S2 and Gear S3 that automatically lets you see a new watch face every day, and NYC Transit.
