Samsung Pay has now Launched in Thailand

Samsung’s mobile payment service, Samsung Pay, has been successfully launched in some key markets around the world. Now, the Korean tech giant of has added Thailand to the list. Samsung Pay will form part of the Thai government’s national e-payment strategy for the country, in order for it to become a true cashless society. The payment method is an attractive proposition as it is simple, secure and can work almost anywhere. Samsung released an early access program in the country in October 2016, which has had its official release rolled out nationwide.
The mobile payment service has aligned with many partners such as MasterCard, Visa, KCC, Bangkok Bank, Citibank, KasikornBank, KTC and Siam Commercial Bank, and it is also being accepted by department stores and shops across Thailand. The payment method also supports Galaxy Gift Prepaid Card by MasterCard, as well as membership cards, can be added.

“We are very excited to be introducing Samsung Pay to the Thai market, as we strive to continue to deliver a robust payment platform and digital wallet to consumers around the world,” said Thomas Ko, Vice President of Samsung Pay.

Consumers have been warm to receive this alternative payment method as it means they no longer need to carry cash or credit cards. Now we wait patiently for it to be released to markets closer to home, for me the UK.
