While most of the buzz is happening over at CES 2017, Las Vegas. Samsung is showing some love over in India as the company is reportedly sending out invites for the launch of its current gen Tizen based smartwatch- The Gear S3 scheduled on the 10th of January. The Gear S3 will take over the throne from the Gear S2 which made way into the country exactly a year ago.

The smartwatch comes in two design variants- The Gear S3 Classic and Gear S3 Frontier. Both feature a 1.3 inch circular Super AMOLED display surrounded by the unique rotating bezel. The smartwatches are IP68 certified waterproof to protect them from occasional splashes and rainfall. They boast of an array of sensors such as Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Heart Rate, Ambient Light, Barometer. On the connectivity front, the smartwatches are equipped with NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi and A-GPS/ Glonass.(There is also an LTE variant which is unlikely to launch in India). The smartwatches are powered by a dual-core processor coupled with 768 MB of RAM. A 380mah battery keeps the smartwatch running for up to 4 days and features wireless charging technology to juice back up.
