Samsung Z1 is performing better than expected with over 120,000 sales so far

The Tizen based Z1 has been designed to target emerging markets such as India and Bangladesh, where it has been released over the last few weeks. According to industry sources, the Z1 has sold over 100,000 units sold in India since launching on 14 January. Bangladesh is a much smaller market than India, but it has still achieved sales of over 20,000 units sold during the first week.
The Z1 has achieved a market share of 1 percent in its first month, but that is quite substantial for a largely unheard of Operating System (OS). Samsung has began marketing the Z1 with key selling points that consumers will like in this region like fast Web surfing speed, excellent multitasking performance, and long battery life based on the HTML5-optimized Tizen OS.
