Ensuring that there is an abundance of quality apps in the store can play a major factor in how successful a smartphone OS can become. Microsoft happened to learn that the hard way, on the other hand Samsung had started a Tizen Mobile App Incentive Program with an intention of getting developers to build quality apps for the Tizen smartphone platform. The program, which started off in January this year, awarded the top 100 most downloaded games every month with a $10,000 monthly cash reward. The program is in its 10th and final instalment and now we have the result for the top 100 downloaded apps for the month of September 2017 that will be bagging the cash prize.

Whatsapp was dethroned by newcomer Imo instant messaging app for the pole spot in August’s installment, however with the large user base of Indian Tizen smartphone users preferring Whatsapp as a mainstream messaging platform, Whatsapp is back to the top spot again. Apart from that, some of the popular mainstream apps such as Facebook, ShareIt, Facebook messenger, UCWeb, MXPlayer, Here Maps, etc continue their reign in the top charts.
The Incentive program was more specifically started to help Indie developers to keep devoted with their work on the Tizen platform and they certainly have responded positively with a a number of Indie apps. The Top 100 downloaded apps cross many categories such as entertainment, gaming, news, utilities, etc. You can find the full list of apps below-
