We have had 512GB Full sized SD Cards for a while now, but now Integral Memory is the first to fit 512GB into the MicroSD form factor. Previously, we have seen SanDisk’s 400GB MicroSD card hold the record as the biggest memory card around, but now that title is gone to the new boy on the block. Speed wise the Sandisk card still remains faster with transfer speeds of up to 100MB/s, whereas the Integral Memory’s 512GB can manage 80MB/s. Does this speed difference matter to you? When you are moving huge amounts of data then I’m sure you will feel it.
This is a microSDXC card that is classified as SDXC UHS-I U1, that meets the Video Speed Class 10 (V10) standard, meaning you should achieve a minimum sequential write speed of 10MB/second. This is enough to capture Full HD 1080p video on it, but not recommended for 4K video, although some people seem to manage on shabbier looking cards. Most likely your device will support this standard – most Android phones, tablets, PCs, action cams, drones and camcorders do support it (but always good to check), and then you should be ready to have a whopping 512GB of additional storage.
No word has been given regarding the price, but we all know it won’t be that cheap as the Sandisk 400GB card is going for about $243 on Amazon, and this will be definitely be more expensive. Launch date is set sometime next month in February.
