The Samsung Z1 is the world’s first commercial Tizen Smartphone and hopefully it will not be the last. Update: The Samsung Z2, Z3 and Z4 have come out since. Some of you developers or tech enthusiasts might have the need to flash the software / firmware on your phone and below are the Instructions and a little video showing you the process.
Please be aware that you can brick your phone, which means it might become totally unusable
Instructions
- Download the firmware file
- Download Odin v3.09
- Uncompress the firmware file
- Uncompress the Odin zip-file
- Launch Odin v3.09
- Reboot phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
- Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
- Add the firmware file to AP / PDA
- Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
- Click the start button, sit back and wait a few minutes
