Tony Hawk teases new gaming collab with Activision

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater titles are some of the best games of all time with most hitting the 90+ Metacritic score.

The gameplay, the music, and the collaboration with one of the world’s most legendary skaters made for instant classics that many are still playing today.

However, the only new iteration of the Pro Skater franchise that has been released in recent years is the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 bundle which were remakes of the original for modern tech.

While these sold well, they were a bit buggy with issues affecting the core gameplay and online functions.

This didn’t stop gamers wanting a further Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 bundle, and Tony Hawk himself has just spilled some beans on what may be in store for the franchise.

In an interview with Mythical Kitchen, Hawk stated that he is “talking to Activision again” about a future project and they are “working on something”.

What this ‘something’ is remains to be seen but with the 25th anniversary of the original Pro Skater occurring this September, the timing all lines up for a project within that franchise.

Hawk does also say that what he and Activision are crafting is “something the fans will truly appreciate”, setting the already high bar even higher for those who have played even one of the aforementioned games.

In addition, Hawk also commented on the lack of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, suggesting that the main reason that it hasn’t happened yet is because the developers of 1 + 2, Vicarious Visions, “got kind of absorbed” and “then it was over.”

This isn’t due to Activision not trying to get the remake made though as Hawk does state that the company was “trying to find somebody” but “didn’t really trust anyone the way they did Vicarious.”

If what Hawk is teasing is Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, or even the whole collection in one download, it’ll certainly be a set of remakes fans new and old will be snapping up.
