US Linux enthusiasts should rejoice today as the Tizen based Samsung Gear S is officially available to purchase in the US right now. The Gear S is a Smartwatch that contains a Linux Tizen stack, and also has integrated cellular and modem 3G data capabilities with its built in SIM Card.
ATT have got the Gear S available in Black and White colours for $299.00 without contract, and $199.99 with a 24 month contract. You can find the contract details here, but to be honest, they did confuse me.
Sprint have the Gear S for the full retail price of $384.00, but also has $16 for 24 payments (also $384), and it looks like the only colour on offer is the Black one. I personally prefer Black anyway.
So far T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless have not put the Gear S on-sale, but I can’t see them taking too long to follow suit. Are you going to be purchasing a Gear S? Let us know in the comments.
